Focus group implemented in Italy

After the dissemination of the research questionnaire, Glocal Factory organized two focus groups with young people to discuss and debate the topic, one online and one offline. The first meeting involved ten young people from the Municipality of Soave, meeting in the Scout headquarters in the evening.

An expert led the debate to the discussion on various issues related to the European Union, its policies (particularly for young people), and the possibility of perceived participation, noting conflicting opinions but a common difficulty in coming in contact with the participation opportunities that the Union provides to young people (which are often flattened out on Erasmus linked to universities).

The second online focus group involved young people already active in the European context. The discussion was, therefore, handled in a very different way and had as its main purpose that of pointing out the difficulties in participation. However, no particular intrinsic problems have emerged, only an extrinsic difficulty in putting together different activities and commitments.

In general, both groups said they were stimulated by the discussion and knowledge of the project and asked to be able to participate in the next scheduled activities actively!
